Psychoanalysis & Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Jinny Prais, PhD, LP

My Practice
I work with clients seeking intensive psychoanalytic work that is both analytically rigorous and solution-oriented. Many are academics, independent scholars, writers, and creative professionals navigating anxiety, depression, major life transitions, creative fatigue, chronic stress, or entrenched patterns in work and relationships.
I listen closely—including to dreams—offer clear, grounded impressions, and help identify the forces driving stuck points so you can break cycles, find relief, and make lasting shifts. The work stays close to your lived experience while translating insight into concrete steps. Sessions may be once weekly or more intensive, depending on your needs.
About Me
I am a New York State–licensed psychoanalyst with advanced training from the National Institute for the Psychotherapies (NIP). My academic and clinical background is grounded in depth-oriented, insight-driven analytic work. I have taught and mentored for over a decade, bringing similar analytical tools and open curiosity into the consulting room that I bring to my teaching and scholarship.
Drawing from Foundations-level study and an apprenticeship in Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE), as well as mindful parenting approaches, I bring additional insight to my work with parents and families. This perspective complements my broader practice with clients navigating personal growth, relationships, and family life.My style is engaged and collaborative—grounded in the belief that meaningful change emerges from the integration of insight and action.Services
